Neuchâtel / La Chaux-de-Fonds from the airports
From any of the three airports (Geneva, Zurich, Basel-Mulhouse), the easiest and most economical option is to take the train, which will bring you to the city centre of Neuchâtel or La Chaux-de-Fonds in approximately two hours, depending on your accommodation location.

Travel between Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds
During the conference, the fastest way to travel between Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds is by train from the main SBB station, with departures every 30 minutes (journey time approx. 30 minutes). Most conference venues, tour locations, and recommended hotels are located close to the main conference sites. We encourage participants to use public transport or simply walk, as most destinations are within a 20–30 minute walk. We do not recommend taking taxis, as they can be very expensive even for short distances.
Please note that Neuchâtel railway station and the Haute Ecole Arc (Campus Arc 1), which hosts Wednesday’s conference sessions, are located uphill from the city centre, the lake, and the university. Public transport is recommended for participants who may have limited mobility
Getting to the University of Neuchâtel
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is a 5-minute walk from the Neuchâtel University bus and funicular stop.
- From the city centre: (Bus 101) Depart from Place Pury to Neuchâtel Université
- From the main SBB railway station: take the funicular « Fun’ambule » linking the station to the University area.
Getting to Haute Ecole Arc (Wednesday conference venue)
Haute Ecole Arc (Campus Arc 1) is a 5-minute walk from Neuchâtel SBB railway station.
- From the city centre : (Bus 106 / 107 / 109) Depart from Place Pury or Neuchâtel Saint-Honoré to Neuchâtel Gare Nord, then cross the underpass and the station. Exit to your left towards Haute Ecole Arc (Campus Arc 1).
- From the University district : take the funicular « Fun’ambule » to the SBB station, then walk to Haute Ecole Arc (Campus Arc 1).
